Grassroots Conversation, a project of D-Lenz Media, in collaboration with Apex1Radio will host an End-of-the-year Mental Health Dialogue on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Columbus Metropolitan Library, 5590 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
“This event will feature insightful discussions, personal stories, and informative presentations, all centered around mental health. It will not only raise awareness but also foster a sense of community and support for those struggling with mental health issues,” said Danlette Grace Washington, one of the hosts of the event.
“At the Grassroots Conversation, we firmly believe that face-to-face interaction is essential for building teams, promoting cross-functional collaboration, and reducing friction in the work process. And with the current state of the world, where mental health is a pressing concern for many, this in-person event will provide a safe and supportive space to connect and engage with others.”
“In addition to the event, we encourage attendees to take advantage of on-site resources. We will have mental health professionals and support groups present to provide guidance, assistance, and information on various mental health services available in the community.”
Two years ago, the D-Lenz Media Network launched a groundbreaking initiative – the Grassroots Conversation. This virtual platform aimed to shed light on underreported and human-interest issues, with a focus on mental health, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking.
Since its inception, the Grassroots Conversation has organized several virtual events, raised awareness and sparked essential discussions on these critical topics.
In May 2021, the Grassroots Conversation hosted its first virtual mental health event, which was met with overwhelming support and engagement from the community. Encouraged by this response, the team behind this initiative has continued organizing virtual events throughout the year, each garnering more attention and participation than the last.
And now, after two successful years of virtual events, the Grassroots Conversation is taking a significant step forward. This year, we are thrilled to co-host our first in-person mental health event in collaboration with Apex 1 Radio.
As the year ends, it is more important than ever to connect, check in with one another, and sustain our efforts to raise awareness for mental health.
