The second-floor ballroom of the Lincoln Theater, also known as the Lincoln Club, is a hidden gem in the heart of the city. It provides a unique performance space for various events. Its organic and intimate ambiance made it ideal for Club Lincoln’s latest event, “There Will Be House!” This event celebrated the iconic four-on-the-floor beat and mesmerizing lyrics that radiate joy, bringing together a diverse crowd of music lovers and dance enthusiasts.
The evening started with a complimentary listening party in the Social Centre, curated by the talented DJ TrigNo. The audience relaxed and enjoyed the music, setting the tone for the rest of the night. As the sun set, the party moved to the ballroom for the official Club Lincoln event at 8 pm. The ballroom, which can accommodate 150-250 guests, was transformed into a vibrant dance floor, with DJ Sonicc Blush spinning the latest and greatest house music.
However, the ballroom offered various seating options for cross-functional collaboration and team building among guests, making the night about more than just the music. The room felt united as the beats got louder and the energy levels rose.
They held hip-hop breakdancing battles that evening, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event. The performers and enthusiastic audience created a lively, electric atmosphere, leaving everyone wanting more.
Donald, the spokesperson for “There will be House,” explained that during the event, the audience could witness the freestyle competition, the battle of the houses, and some of the house forefathers. The event had a strong community influence and a big get-down, which made it a true reflection of the beauty of Ohio and Midwest dance cultures. It’s worth noting that Donald also teaches dance at the Ohio State University College of Arts and Science, specifically in the Department of Dance.
The charming and intimate setting of the historic Lincoln Club was the perfect backdrop for “There Will Be House!” This night was a true celebration of music, dance, and community, highlighting the power of face-to-face interaction and the importance of coming together to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. As the event drew to a close, it was evident that the Lincoln Club and Club Lincoln had created a memorable and unique experience for everyone in attendance.
