CelebrateOne, a program dedicated to improving maternal and infant health, hosted a community baby shower at the weekend for expecting mothers and new mothers in Columbus with approximately 250 people in attendance.
The expecting mothers and new mothers received free bags filled with essential baby supplies like diapers, lotion, pacifiers, and books.
The free event which took place at the Feddersen Recreation Center also featured lots of food, music, raffles and even activities for the kids.
“CelebrateOne recognizes the importance of supporting mothers during pregnancy and after childbirth,” said Danielle Tong, executive director of Celebrate One.
“This baby shower fostered a sense of community and provided valuable resources to ensure every infant has the opportunity to thrive and celebrate their first birthday. By promoting access to prenatal care and infant care education, we’re investing in the future of Columbus, one healthy baby at a time.”
CelebrateOne’s Baby Shower activities included:
- Free diaper bags: Filled with essential baby supplies like diapers, lotion, pacifiers, and books – a perfect welcome gift for little ones!
- Exciting raffle prizes: Attendees had the chance to win amazing baby gear, such as a stroller and highchair.
- Connection to Resources: The event featured community organizations who provided information about medical care during pregnancy, health insurance, breastfeeding, and housing.
- Free safe sleep training: A dedicated session provided essential safe sleep practices for babies.
Since 2014, CelebrateOne has been a champion for pregnant women and families with babies under the age of one. Their mission is to empower every child to celebrate their first birthday and beyond.
