The Ohio State University women’s basketball team ranked two nationally, clinched the outright Big Ten regular season championship for the first time since the 2009-2010 season, marking their sixteenth Big Ten Regular Season title in program and conference history. The Buckeyes have been on a dominant run in conference play, securing a 15-game winning streak, the second-longest in team history.
In their latest triumph, Ohio State’s defense proved formidable, accumulating 19 steals and causing 29 turnovers against Michigan. Jacy Sheldon spearheaded the team with a game-high 22 points, while Cotie McMahon and Celeste Taylor also delivered double-digit scoring performances.
Throughout the season, the Buckeyes have displayed their defensive prowess, recording double-digit steals in 18 games and forcing at least 20 turnovers in 19 games. Their ability to disrupt opposing offenses has been pivotal to their success this season.
Looking ahead, Ohio State will conclude the regular season with a challenging road matchup against No. 6/6 Iowa. The Buckeyes will endeavor to maintain their momentum into the postseason as they strive for a deep run in the Big Ten Tournament and beyond.
