Community Refugee and Immigration Services is a nonprofit organization that serves the refugee and immigrant populations in Central Ohio. Their work includes partnering with several local, state, and private-public organizations to link individuals and their families with appropriate resources. The CRIS 10th annual 5K Run is one of many organizations’ gatherings that help support their work. It allows participants to run a 5K course through the neighborhood while raising funds for many of its causes, like providing meals, clothing, and other essential services to those in need.
In a city that recently celebrated its 43rd Columbus marathon, which brought together runners of diverse nationalities to promote health and fitness, it was a beautiful occasion.
