Global Africa Forum, a collaboration between the 2024 Black History Festival and Africa Prosperity Network recently honored President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of Ghana with a Star Prize of the Black History Makers Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the promotion of Diaspora Engagement, Investment, and Cultural Exchanges.
The award which took place on the sidelines of the United Nation General Assembly conference in New York acknowldegd President Nana Akufo-Addo’s cultural exchange projects such as the Year of Return and Beyond the Return Initiative .
“He was conferred with the coveted Star Prize of the Black History Makers Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the promotion of Diaspora Engagement, Investment, and Cultural Exchanges, notably through the Year of Return and Beyond the Return Initiative by the Permanent Representative of the African Union to the United States, Ambassador Hilda Suka Mafudze during the event in New York,”said Stephen Selasie Asuo, Executive Coordinator of the Festival and the President of BIDEC.
“The award was meticulously curated by the Bureau for International Development, Exchanges, and Commerce (BIDEC), under the auspices of the African Union Mission to the USA, in collaboration with esteemed partners in the USA.”
Announcing the venue of the 2024 Black History Festival, tephen Selasie Asuo said “the Festival is thrilled to announce that the next edition of the Black History Festival and the Black History Makers Awards is scheduled to take place from the 21st to the 25th of February 2024 in the vibrant city of Columbus, Ohio, USA.”
