The 2nd New American Leadership Academy (NALA) Alumni Summit will hold on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Columbus State Community College Conference Center, 315 Cleveland Avenue, 4th floor, Columbus, Ohio from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
With registration still on going for only NALA graduates, the summit which is being organized by the Department of Neighborhood of the City of Columbus will focus on leadership development journey and learning about new opportunities to become engaged.
The alumni members will have the opportunity to learn from experts in sessions focused on small business and entrepreneurship as well as best practices for non-profit organizations.
Speakers from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, the Human Service Chamber of Franklin County and the Worth Foundation are expected at the summit.
This year’s 2nd annual NALA summit will feature four different tracks training, featuring speakers at the opening session, tailored community development and civic engagement training and more.
Two (2) sessions on non-profit development will cover financial management, grant writing, community partnerships and governance; and
Two (2) sessions on business will cover entrepreneurship, MBE certifications, and business development resources.
Also, to feature will be tailored training on community development enhancing civic engagement and functional integration at the closing session.
Expected take aways include:
- Opportunity to learn from practitioners and professionals and from business and nonprofit sectors.
- Expand upon professional development through continuous education journey.
- Gain insight from various speakers on consensus building, collaborations, civic engagement, and inspirations to take action for community oriented causes.
- Meet and network with professional colleagues from 40+ different national origins with different professions and academic disciplines.
