Ohio Governor Mike DeWine led a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of Sherwin-Williams’ new global headquarters in downtown Cleveland. Founded in Cleveland in 1866, this year marks the company’s 160th anniversary.
“Sherwin-Williams has called Northeast Ohio home for 160 years and today is a celebration of their longtime commitment to Ohio,” said Governor DeWine.
“The new, state-of-the-art headquarters will continue to attract talent to Ohio, encourage our best and brightest students to stay in Ohio after graduation, and drive future development in Cleveland.”
JobsOhio committed $37.5 million for the new one-million-square-foot campus, which includes a two-story welcome center pavilion, a 36-story office tower, and an attached multi-level parking garage. The office tower will house more than 3,000 employees.
As part of the company’s Building Our Future project, Sherwin Williams also completed the Global Research and Development Center in Brecksville, Ohio, which began receiving its 900 employees in September 2025. Sherwin-Williams employs more than 6,500 Ohioans.
JobsOhio helps ensure a robust talent pipeline for STEM and technical positions at Sherwin-Williams through the “Create Your Possible: Sherwin-Williams Career Accelerator” at Baldwin Wallace University.
This program supports full-time sophomores, juniors, and seniors in related majors such as STEM and business through networking, mentorship, internship opportunities, and direct full-time hiring opportunities with the company after graduation.
