Columbus, Ohio resident and former President of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA) Emmanuel S. Wettee has been conferred with the Liberia’s distinction in the Humane Order of African Redemption with the grade of Knight Commander by the President of the Republic of Liberia, H. E Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr.
In commemoration of the 178th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Liberia, Hon. Emmanuel S. Wettee was honored for his dedication to the Liberian people in the diaspora and leading the advocacy for the Liberian Dual Citizenship Movement.

“With other advocates in America, including Hon. Alfred Sieh, the Board Chairman for Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA), and Federation of Liberian Associations in Ohio (FOLAO), both men worked tirelessly and advocated for the Liberian Legislature to amend the country’s Alien and Nationality Law,” according to Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA).
In 2023, Liberians in America and globally celebrated the victory of “Dual Citizenship.”
