Accelerate Columbus, a program of the City of Columbus and the Columbus Chamber of Commerce training minority-owned, small businesses and solopreneurs on their business journey graduated members of the Spring 2024 cohort on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the main Columbus Metropolitan Library.
The 12 weeks class with over 20 Columbus began on Tuesday, March 19, and end Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
“Congratulations for successfully completing your training and on your MBE certification graduation,” said Program Coordinator Abiona Harper to the graduates.
A member of the cohort Margo Canady-Johnson said “I am thrilled to announce that I completed a 12-week course today! Thanks to the Columbus Chamber of Commerce for offering this amazing program and to Abiona Harper for leading our cohort.”
Also, Priscila Teixeira said “Feeling grateful to be part of the program Accelerate Columbus (For those not familiar, think Columbus Chamber of Commerce + City of Columbus together supporting entrepreneurs = equals empowerment and inspiration for the entire cohort including us at the Columbus Fashion Academy.”
Publisher New Americans magazine Deba Uwadiae, who was also part of the Spring Class said, “after 12weeks of Class work, learning more about managing and developing business, with the full support of the City of Columbus and the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, today’s graduation is not the final. It is “a beacon of hope and inspiration to others.” Thanks to everyone that created the space for me to be part of this class. Thanks Abiona Stinson Harper for leading our cohort.”
Accelerate Columbus is a program of The City of Columbus and The Columbus Chamber of Commerce targeting and catering to minority-owned, small businesses and solopreneurs beginning their business journey.
Utilizing the Chamber’s network of hundreds of subject matter experts that specialize in all aspects of entrepreneurship and small business, the trainings explored topics in the areas of: Community Resources, Business Management and Operations, Marketing and Branding, MBE Certification, Networking, Banking, etc.).
While participating as a member of the cohort, business participants also received training, one-on-one consultative services with the Columbus Chamber staff, advocacy, and entrepreneur assistance and support.
