The city of Cleveland is known for its diverse population, with a large number of refugees and immigrants from different parts of the world. As the city is being hailed as the “new home” for these individuals, it’s interesting to see how they are embracing the city’s beloved football team, the Browns.
Just like the refugees and immigrants, the Browns have faced their own struggles and challenges, but they both share a common hope for a brighter future. This year, as the Browns aim for success on the field, the refugees and immigrants of Cleveland will undoubtedly be cheering them on, hoping for a victorious and triumphant season.
The question in the hearts and the minds of many people in the sports world, especially Browns fans, is, can the Browns make the playoffs, and can they ever make it to the Super Bowl?
The Browns have been in the playoffs only twice since they re-entered the American Football Conference in 1999, and now they are on the brink of securing a spot in the playoffs this year. Can they Make it? Yes, they will. Not just because I’m a fan but because they have the Chemistry, The Momentum, and the brotherhood to make it happen. They are currently 5th in the AFC North and Second in the division.
I saw it first hand when I went to Acrisure Stadium, the official home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, on Sept 18, 2023, when Nick Chub Suffered an injury in his left knee. And that was when the entire stadium went silent.
Also, the Browns were plagued with Deshaun Watson drama, the Quarterback Carousel that the Browns can never avoid, and the Oline injuries. There was no way we would have this conversation, but what happened? The Browns kept winning games. That’s what happened!
Well, there is no secret sauce or spice. It was a recipe for excellent defense, brotherhood, and a loyal fanbase that can go toe-to-toe with anyone in this league. That has galvanized this team. The Hiring of Jim Schwartz was one of the most significant hires they have made since the team has been back.
The other part of that sauce is that the team has a brotherhood mentality. Players have stated in the media that they hang out together regularly.
The Browns made another move to solve their QB drama by accruing a seasoned QB, JOE Flacco, after two games. He has a QBR of 35.1, 311 Passing yards, three touchdowns, and 2 Interceptions. However, those stats could be a lot better. He has playoff and Super Bowl experience. Many browns fans’ perfect scenario would see Flacco beat the Ravens in the playoffs against his old team.
I spoke with one fan, and he feels that Flacco is a plant to keep the browns from winning in the playoffs, but I doubt that. I compare Flacco’s situation here to the movie The Replacements. (2000), Where Shane Falco (different spelling) In the film was no longer playing football, just like Joe Flacco. and was asked to be on a team to help them win, Can the former Superbowl winner Flacco help the browns when a Championship like in the movie or when he was with Baltimore Ravens? Only time will tell.
