The Columbus Division of Police, in partnership with Starfish Assignment, AEP Ohio, and Macy’s will give out nearly 700 brand-new coats directly to Columbus kids on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, beginning from 11am, in its 6th Annual Coat Drive.
“On Wednesday, CPD officers will “shop” for the families in their patrol area. The officers will then go door-to-door delivering the gift in time for the holidays,” said Glenn McEntyre, Assistant Director, Department of Public Safety.
“With the cold months ahead, the Columbus Division of Police is helping make sure every child stays safe and warm this season. Thanks to a partnership with the Starfish Assignment and AEP Ohio, hundreds of kids will receive brand-new winter coats for free. This is Starfish’s longest-running project, dating back to 2018.”
“Even in the heat of summer, our officers were thinking of what families would need come winter,” said Starfish Assignment Founder Nicole Banks.
“Since then, we’ve been able to give away more than 3,000 coats to children who need them most. We have our partners to thank for that.”
