On Saturday, September 16, 2022, I had the privilege of joining Mr. Deba Uwadiae, the Publisher of New Americans Magazine and the Founder of the New American Community Information Center, alongside Mr. Ernest Kanjo, the visionary behind Apex 1 Radio in Columbus, Ohio. We gathered as members of the Local Organizing Committee of the New Americans Book Fair, with Mr. Ayo Akinuli spearheading our discussion. Together, we deliberated on the significance of the upcoming book fair, emphasizing why authors of New American descent and a diverse audience should wholeheartedly embrace our invitation.
This remarkable event is envisioned by New Americans Magazine and the New American Community Information Center and generously supported by the Dublin Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, which graciously offered to host the program. Additionally, the Columbus Department of Neighborhoods, along with several other prominent city and state government agencies, have thrown their unwavering support behind this literary celebration.
As of our latest update, we are thrilled to report that over 50 authors have already registered for the fair, with numerous others expressing keen interest. We’ve also received inquiries from software engineers and professionals in related fields who deal in intangible knowledge products, all eager to participate. Furthermore, high-ranking government officials have pledged their presence at the fair, and authors from beyond the United States are registering to join us virtually.
From every corner of the globe, continents and nations are uniting to showcase the literary treasures of their celebrated authors at this event.
The New Americans Book Fair promises to be an experience like no other, combining knowledge and entertainment in a unique blend. We are introducing a red carpet element this year, allowing authors to walk the red carpet with their books and share the captivating stories behind their creations. Publishers, film producers, and collective exhibitors are joining us in this grand endeavor and spoken word performances will be a highlight of the festivities.
As we contemplate the future, we envision a New American Knowledge Fair that will span multiple venues across the United States, North America, and beyond. The possibilities are boundless.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, a day that will shine brightly in the City of Columbus. Our venue is the Dublin Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, located at 75 North High Street, Dublin, OH 43017.
