Ohioan and Mrs. Ohio Curve Globe 2023 Clementine Bihiga is a Certified John Maxwell Thought Leader, Empowerment Speaker, and published author of award-winning book “Happily Broken: Discovering Happiness Through Pain and Suffering”. In June 2023 she visited South Africa to speak at a conference on empowering women. During the conference, Clementine met Mrs. Curve Globe 2023, a South African, Lucia Simelane-Ochan. She was excited to meet the current Mrs. Curve Globe and motivated by the fact that she was a South African. Barely two months after that encounter, Dr. Clementine Bihiga, originally from Rwanda, has been crowned Mrs. Ohio Curve 2023. Between June 18 and 23, 2024 Mrs. Ohio Curve Globe 2023 will compete for the Mrs. USA Curve Globe 2024 at Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa, Rancho Mirage, California. The winner will compete with other winners from around the world for the Mrs. Curve Globe.
Founded by Dr. Tracy Kemble in 1996, the charity-based pageant for the WIN Foundation®, is a celebration of beauty, culture, and charity for women, with over 80 licenses worldwide.
Mrs. Ohio Curve Globe spoke with the New Americans magazine on how she decided to contest for the Mrs. Curve Globe, experience, and expectations.
In 2016, Mrs. Globe® expanded from being the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world for women 27-45, by introducing the elegant Mrs. Globe Classique® pageant, a competition for women 45+ years young. And in 2019, to be a fully inclusive celebration of women, Mrs. Globe launched the glamourous Mrs. Curve’ Globe® for women size 12 +.
Mrs. Curve Globe
I went to South Africa in June 2023 to a conference where I was speaking and being recognized for my work on women/youth empowerment and there I met the current Mrs. Curve’ Globe 2023. She is South African Lucia Simelane-Ochan, and after speaking with her and learning about the work Mrs. Globe does around the world to empower women, I knew this was something I wanted to be part of. Being from Rwanda, I thought to myself, “if another African woman can do it, so can I”. This is what women empowerment is all about.
Mrs. Globe has a non-profit arm called the W.I.N foundation which stands for (Women In Need) and its mission is “Healing, Empowering and Celebrating One Woman at a time” This mission resonated with me and the work I’m already involved in, so I decided to put in and apply for the Title.
Mrs. Ohio Curve’
I was in shock at first, I couldn’t believe this was happening. Throughout the interview process, I told myself that if I don’t get selected this year, I’d run again the following year. I was going to take it as “Not Now” and not “No”. I’m pretty determined and very optimistic in nature, so I was definitely going to try again. Now that I have been chosen, I am excited to represent Mrs. Globe in Ohio and partner with organizations that empower women to realize the mission of the W.I.N foundation and the Mrs. Globe pageant.
Mrs. USA Curve
The national contest will have women from all over the country representing their respective States. These women are inspiring, change makers and radiate beauty inside and out. I’m very excited to celebrate sisterhood and collaborate with them and build lasting relationships. The winner of the national contest will be Mrs. U.S.A Curve’ and from there, she will be competing at the international level to be Mrs. Curve’ Globe.
Expectations
My first project as Mrs. Ohio Curve’ is to partner with women around Ohio to work on a women empowerment book called “You Are A Masterpiece”. I believe that women have powerful stories to share and empower one another. Any woman who is interested in being part of this project can find out more information about it in the link. After I wrote and published my own book, I had many women approach me telling me that they have a story but don’t know where to begin to write it. With this project, these women’s voices will be heard, and their stories will inspire other women around the world.
