Ohio will host the first ever Festival of Colors in Columbus on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Genoa Park from noon to 6 pm.

“This is the first time that it is being held in Ohio. Let’s make this Ohio’s biggest Color, Chant and Dance Party,” said Suri Raman, spokesperson for the Ohio Festival of Colors.
“Activities include Mantra Bands, Interactive Bhakti Dance, DJ’s, Yoga, Cruelty-free Cuisine, Crafts, Color Throws on the Hour, Henna, Children’s Activities and Much More.”
“Wear white clothing. You will enjoy the tapestry of colors on your shirt at the end of the day! Hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. White event t-shirts will be available for purchase on site.
According to him, “the festival is enjoyed by children of all ages. They will love it! A variety of arts and crafts and activities that include fairy gardens, and hair braiding, will keep them entertained.”
However, “alcohol and smoking of all kinds are strictly prohibited. It is a spiritual and family friendly festival. Weapons of any kind are also prohibited. There will be a bag check for security purposes.”
In India, the Festival of Colors announces the arrival of spring and the passing of winter. The festival breathes an atmosphere of social merriment. People bury their hatchets with a warm embrace and throw their worries to the wind. Every nook and corner present a colorful sight. Young and old alike are covered with colors (red, green, yellow, blue, pink, orange, violet, and more).
Suri Raman said “this festival is for everyone. It is a family friendly event! Children under 12 are free.”
