The Ohio Ballot Board has prescribed and certified ballot language and authorized advertising for a proposed constitutional amendment entitled “The Right to Reproductive Freedom with Protections for Health and Safety” (Issue 1) and a proposed law entitled “An Act to Control and Regulate Adult Use Cannabis,” (Issue 2) in the November 7, 2023 general elections in accordance with Ohio law.
The Ballot Board met to approve language that fairly and accurately reflects the right amendment the voters are casting their votes for.
Present at the meeting to approve the ballot language were Secretary Frank LaRose, Senators Theresa Cavarone, Paula Hicks-Hudson, Ohio Senate Appointee, Rep. Bill Morgan, Ohio House Appointee and Josh Sabo, Ohio Ballot Board Secretary.
However, at the weekend, Secretary Frank LaRose in his weekly report titled “the three things to know about the November 7, 2023 election” that, “The Ohio Ballot Board met on Thursday (August 24) to determine the ballot language for the November 7 General Election. There will be two statewide ballot questions for Ohioans to decide on:
Issue 1: “A Self-Executing Amendment Relating to Abortion and Other Reproductive Decisions.” Click here for ballot language.
Issue 2: “To Commercialize, Regulate, Legalize, and Tax the Adult Use of Cannabis.” Click here for ballot language.
He said that the “Ohio’s local county boards of elections have begun their post-election audits for the August 8 Special Election. This is an important process that helps ensure Ohio’s elections are the most accurate in the nation.”
