Funds raised during the gala will be used to construct a new community center in the Eastland Neighborhood in Far East Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio.
This ambitious project aims to impact the lives of over 40,000 diverse residents in the community. The envisioned center will cater to the sociopolitical needs of the community, offering various services such as after-school programs, free clinics, tutoring, legal aid, and workforce development.
Additionally, the Community Center will remain open to Liberians, Americans moving to Columbus, and the public at large, fostering a sense of inclusivity and providing essential resources for personal growth and development.
Notably, LICI’s existing partnership with the Franklin County Jobs and Family Services and other organizations has already benefited around 75 families and 1,500 individuals in Columbus through the fresh produce and community navigator programs.
