Columbus Arts Festival Seeks Volunteers to Fuel Fun-Filled Weekend of June 10-12

Posted by: New Americans Magazine , April 7, 2022

The Columbus Arts Festival, produced by the Greater Columbus Arts Council (Arts Council) and presented by the American Electric Power Foundation, is looking for energetic, fun-loving individuals to join their corps of volunteers for the Festival June 10-12, 2022 on the downtown riverfront.

The Columbus Arts Festival kicks off summer with a weekend event including more than 200 artists selling work; three stages featuring performances in music, theater, dance and spoken word; a mini film festival; more than 40 food and drink vendors; and hands-on art activities and demonstrations.

In order to create this spectacular event for more than 450,000 people, the Arts Council recruits hundreds of volunteers to join their team.

Volunteers, sponsored by Bank of America, do everything from help with the hands-on art activities, to staffing artists’ booths while they take a short break, to being a stagehand. With a commitment of just a few hours, volunteers can be part of the annual event, and will receive a T-shirt, snacks and bottled water.

Volunteers must be 12 years of age or older, and those ages 12-16 must participate with an adult during their shift. Volunteers who monitor artist booths must be 16 or older. Volunteers for the VIP Lounge and beverage booths must be 21 or older.

Visit the Columbus Arts Festival website to see a full list of volunteer opportunities and apply to join the festival team: columbusartsfestival.org/engage/volunteer/.

Festival Hours: Friday, June 10 from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Saturday, June 11 from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; and Sunday, June 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Please note on Friday and Saturday artist booths close at 9 p.m.; artists have the option to stay open later.)

To volunteer at the Columbus Arts Festival, please go to columbusartsfestival.org/engage/volunteer/.

The 2022 Columbus Arts Festival is presented by the American Electric Power Foundation. Additional sponsors and partners include Bank of America, Bath & Body Works, Battelle, Cardinal Health, Chase, CoverMyMeds, IGS Energy, King Business Interiors, Maker’s Mark, The Ohio State University, OSA Technology Partners, PNC, Rhinegeist, White Castle, Whole World Lemonade and Worthington Industries Foundation. Media sponsors include ABC6/WSXY, CD92.9, Lamar Outdoor, Ohio Magazine, Orange Barrel Media, WCBE, WOSU Public Media and WSNY.
