I had the first book signing for the tenth year edition of The Flavor of Favor: Quest for the American Dream, A Memoir last Friday, October 3, 2025.
It was an incredible privilege that the very first set of this special edition was signed for the young New American writers and artists who participated in the New Americans Book Fair writing and art contest.

There could not have been a more fitting audience to honor with this milestone. These talented children and their families embody the very heart of the story I tell in my book. They represent the future of New Americans. They reflect resilience, hope, and the promise of the American dream.
I did not fully grasp the significance of that evening until the next day, after I had a chance to reflect. Then it struck me, though not planned, I have just had my first book signing for this new edition. It was just not an event, it was a symbolic passing of the torch. My special guests could not have been better chosen.
My heartfelt thanks to Deba Uwadiae and the New Americans Book Fair and Magazine for organizing the beautiful reception that made this moment possible.
