The Columbus Metro Parks system has unveiled a new Canopy Walk at Blacklick Woods Metro Park in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, offering visitors a unique way to experience the park’s natural beauty. The canopy walk is equipped with an elevator, is believed to be the first ADA-accessible canopy walk in Ohio.
It is a stunning destination that will captivate all visitors’ hearts. It offers breathtaking views of the park and its natural surroundings and serves as a welcoming and inclusive space for the diverse community of Reynoldsburg. With a large population of new Americans, mainly from Nepal and Bhutan, the Canopy Walk is a beautiful place for all to gather and enjoy the beauty of nature together.
It is also a symbol of unity and harmony, showcasing the unique cultural backgrounds of its visitors and bringing them closer through the shared experience of exploring this magnificent park. Whether you are a longtime resident or a recent immigrant, visiting the Canopy Walk at Blacklick Woods Metro Park is essential for anyone looking to connect with nature and their community.
The one-eighth-of-a-mile trail features rope bridges and cargo nets for visitors, providing a bird’s-eye view of the forest floor and swamp below. An elevator allows access to the 35-foot-high boardwalk, while stairs lead to an observation platform.
The Canopy Walk is free for visitors and will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from April to August and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from September to March. The pathway is perfect for bird-watching and viewing the park throughout the seasons, offering a unique perspective on the 652 acres of woods, fields, swamp ponds, prairies, and a golf course that makes up Blacklick Woods Metro Park.
