On March 15, Judge Carl Aveni of Franklin County paid homage to the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on her 91st birth anniversary. In his tribute, Judge Aveni reflected on Justice Ginsburg’s legacy, particularly her unwavering commitment to advocating for the disenfranchised and marginalized. Last Friday, March 15th, would have been her 91st birthday. 

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a champion for women’s rights and gender equality, gaining fame in the 1970s for her groundbreaking work. In 1993, she was appointed to the Supreme Court, becoming the second woman to hold this esteemed position. She was born on March 15, 1933, and died on September 18, 2020, at the age of 87. 

Judge Aveni praised Justice Ginsburg for her unwavering advocacy for equal rights and opportunities for all individuals, regardless of their race or circumstances. He highlighted her clarity in expressing her views and noted that her voice and actions have impacted society.
