Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has promised to look into the possibility of linking by bridge the Ohio School for the Blind with the Ohio School for the Deaf to ease accessibility to the two campuses by both students and staff.

Students, staff, and visitors can only access the two schools that are by each other either through the North High entrance or the Morse Road entrance instead of a link at both ends of the campuses.
“One of the capital needs discussed is putting the two campuses together. They have some students who go back and forth. They have needs in both ways. They also want to grow green houses and they want everybody to be able to access that,” said Governor Mike DeWine.

“We talked about both schools in regard to the capital that they need. It was great and so very impressive to see these young people doing things.”
On his impression of the school, Governor DeWine said, “what I saw was very impressive, the teachers were impressive, and the students were impressive. I learned some things about what technology is available today. We just have to make sure that as a state they have all the technology that they need.”
“These two properties are by each other and so if we have the bridge, they will be able to access both campuses easily. We will not have to make a U-entry.”
