On March 8, 2024, women across the globe unite to celebrate the remarkable achievements of women worldwide.
In commemorating International Women’s Day 2024 under the theme of ‘Investing in women: Accelerate progress, the International Labour Organization (ILO) sheds light on the indispensable roles of decent work and gender equality.
As the world marks International Women’s Day on March 8th each year, it serves as a reminder to strive towards gender equality and empower women in all spheres of life.

As IWD celebration continues, Nigerian, First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, commends Nigerian women for their steadfastness, resilience, and courage. She emphasizes that investing in women is not merely an act of charity but a strategic approach to shaping Nigeria’s future.

Similarly, the First Lady of Ghana, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, envisions a world where gender discrimination is eradicated. She emphasizes the importance of dialogue and reflection on International Women’s Day, aiming to eliminate barriers hindering women from living their best lives.

Meanwhile, the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA) extends a heartfelt message, honoring Liberian women who excel in various fields around the world.
ULAA President, Honorable J. Shiwoh Kamara, expressed appreciation, stating, “To the mothers, sisters, and daughters, your love, sacrifice, and nurturing spirit form the foundation upon which our society stands. You teach us the virtues of kindness, resilience, and courage, shaping the character of generations to come. Your achievements and contributions are celebrated today and every day.”
At the same time, he urged male counterparts to continue supporting women and girls’ empowerment, emphasizing the need for a world free from discrimination and inequality.
Additionally, the Vice President of ULAA echoes this sentiment, encouraging women and young girls to pursue greatness fearlessly. She declares, “I am a lioness. I am a woman. I am not afraid to dream big and venture into male-dominated spaces to achieve greatness.”
