Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and First Lady Fran DeWine have wished Ohio children and families a “Happy Valentine’s Day”, as the world celebrates February 14 as “love day”.
“Happy Valentine’s Day to children and to their families. Families and Children are important to our future,” Governor Mike DeWine and First Lady Fran DeWine said during their visit to the Ohio Department of Children and Youth.
“It is a happy day. Being here (Ohio Department of Children and Youth) on Valentine’s Day sends some message.”
On the visit, Governor DeWine described it as “very excited with what I am seeing. One of the most important things is that we are now looking at children and families, and less emphasis on programs.”
“The enthusiasm here is very great. We saw very exciting people. Our focus is on the future and our children. Our goal is that we want every child to be able to live up to their full potential.
“Many children have been traumatized and they have lived in very difficult circumstances. We have a moral obligation to do everything that we can to help them blossom, and to overcome whatever obstacles that were there and try to remove those obstacles. We want every child to live up to their potential.”
Also, Director Kara Wente, Ohio Department of Children and Youth said, “We want our services to be available to everyone and we are excited in what we are doing.”
The Ohio Department of Children and Youth’s mission is to promote positive, lifelong outcomes for Ohio youth through early intervention, quality education, and family support programs.
