Ohioans swept virtually all the stakes in a one-day table tennis tournament held in Reynoldsburg, Ohio with over 60 players from Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Ohio states on Saturday, January 6, 2024. 

Organized by Platinum Event Center in collaboration with 50 Stars Yuva Club, Ohio players dominated the three categories of 1000 to Under, 1000 to 18 and Veterans-45 and above. 

The results showed 1 to 1000 Category Winner: Karna Gurung (Ohio), Second place was Dawa Tamang (Ohio) and third was Mukum Subba (Ohio).

First place in 1000 to 1800 category: first, Bhagwat Upreti (Ohio) Second Leela Subba (Ohio) Third place Kamal Rai (Kentucky). 

In the veteran category Lakshmi Upreti (Ohio) won the first place of Veteran, Ratna Rai (Kentucky) in the second place and Narayan Sharma (Ohio) in the third place.

 As the excitement of the one-day table tennis tournament came to a close, Kiran Subedi, President of Fifty Stars Yuva Club said: “We are delighted! Amidst tough competition and unwavering sportsmanship, players of various genres showcased their skills and turned the event into an exciting spectacle.” 

“We are happy to conclude this competition in a friendly environment.”

“On our behalf, we would like to thank all the supporters who supported this competition from the bottom of our hearts,” President Subedi. 

Subedi commended sponsors and supporters of the event including Shyam Gautam, Kiran Subedi and Ganga Basnet, while the officials were Lakshmi Upreti, Narayan Sharma, Sohan Phuyel, Shakti Rai, Leela Subba, Bhagwat Upreti and Manoj Dhakale. 

As an exhibition game, the younger twins came from Cleveland to showcase their game.

Fifty Star Youth Club is an Ohio-based non-profit organization of Nepali-speaking Bhutanese. This organization was established in 2021 and it has already organized various sports. This organization has also been doing voluntary service in its society.
