Columbus Police officers will give hundreds of families in Linden, Columbus, Ohio free Thanksgiving holiday meal, in an annual community service event with the Starfish Assignment, and generous community partners on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 11.30am at the Douglas Community Center, 1250 Windsor Avenue, Columbus and Rosewind Apartments, 1400 Brooks Avenue, Columbus.
“Starting at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, officers and volunteers will gather at Douglas Community Center to pack more than 200 bags, with frozen turkeys and side dishes. They will then go door-to-door, delivering meals to families living in the neighboring Rosewind Apartments,” said Starfish Assignment Founder Nicole Banks.
“Cops & Gobblers embodies what the holiday season is all about – loving your neighbors and giving back. We are grateful to be part of the Columbus community.”
Nicole Banks said “The fourth annual Cops and Gobblers giveaway is made possible through the generosity of sponsors Kemba Financial Credit Union, the Starfish Assignment, the American Electric Power Foundation, Byers Airport Subaru, Walmart, and the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department.
“We are also excited to welcome members of the Ohio State Football team, who will be assisting with this community effort.”
