On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, thousands of voters in Ohio State will flock to their local polling places to cast their votes for local and statewide candidates. Campaign Volunteers like Kawther H Musa, a health professional, have been working hard to get new Americans registered to vote, educating them about the election process, the issues at stake, and why it is essential to be informed about current US politics and the events taking place in the community they live in.
Kawther H Musa has become a beacon of hope for the Somalian community and beyond. A young community leader and new American resident, Musa is an advocate for the rights of everyone – not just those in her immediate Somalian community.
From working so hard to spread the word about voting to advocating for education reform and speaking out against injustice, Musa has brought her passionate voice to the fight for equality.
Recently, Kawther visited the city of Gahanna, Ohio, to help register new Americans to vote and to speak with local candidates about their platform.
