Approximately 175 moms-to-be and new parents attended CelebrateOne’s community baby shower at the weekend at Scioto Community Center where they received vital health care information, as well as childcare resources.
Registered attendees also received a complimentary diaper bag with essential baby items, lotion, pacifiers and books.
Also, some families won raffle prizes, such as strollers and swings.
“The community baby showers are one way we reach our community and let them know about the resources available during pregnancy and after childbirth.” said Danielle Tong, executive director, CelebrateOne.
“Health education during pregnancy is important to improve maternal and children outcomes.”
In addition to connecting families with resources and information, participants were able to attend a 30- minute training session on the ABCs of safe sleep.
In 2022, 30 babies died from sleep-related deaths which are completely preventable if babies always sleep alone, on their backs and in their cribs, every nap and every night.
Next month, CelebrateOne will host its last 2023 community baby shower on Sunday, August 27, 1 – 3 p.m at the Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3650 Sunbury Road, Columbus, Ohio.
Since 2014, CelebrateOne has been supporting pregnant women and families with babies under the age of one with a mission to get more babies to their first birthdays.
