Maria Durant, a former anchor and news personality at ABC6/FOX28, has been appointed the new Director of Public Information at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Dallas Baldwin swore in our newest Director of Public Information, Maria Durant. Maria will oversee our Creative Outreach and Media Relations division. As the Communications Director, she represents the Sheriff’s Office to help coordinate media response during crises, and media interviews and oversees the accurate dissemination of information to the news media.
She will also help develop proactive communication strategies and community awareness in the office’s new Recruitment, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion division.
Maria has more than 30 years of experience as a journalist, most recently spending 26 years with ABC6/FOX28 before accepting the position here at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. We are all excited to have her join us and want to welcome her to our family!
