With a campaign theme that is tagged “Experience the Change” City of Delaware’s Attorney Natalia S. Harris will kick off her campaign for Franklin County Prosecutor in the King Lincoln Bronzeville District on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 344 North 20th St. Columbus, Ohio at 11:15 am.
“I am asking for your support and vote because together we can work toward a better, safer, and more just Franklin County,” said Natalia S. Harris.
Natalia S. Harris currently leads the City of Delaware’s Legal Division where she serves as City Attorney and oversees the City of Delaware Prosecutor’s Office.
Harris is a lifetime prosecutor with nearly 25 years of experience and has served in the legal departments of three of Ohio’s largest public jurisdictions. She led the City of Cincinnati’s Prosecution Division and worked in the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office and the Columbus City Attorney’s Office.
Harris graduated from Central State University, where she sits on the CSU Board of Trustees, and the University of Dayton School of Law.
A statement from her campaign’s office said “Harris’ passion for justice was triggered by the murder of her paternal aunt, which deeply impacted her family and inspired by her father, who worked in law enforcement and raised her and her sisters as a single parent after her mother passed when she was in second grade. These experiences taught her the importance of empathy, compassion, and fairness toward others.”
“Despite challenges, Harris earned an academic scholarship for both undergraduate and law school, becoming the first lawyer in her family. She went on to become the youngest and first black female City Prosecutor of Cincinnati, the first black City Prosecutor in Delaware, and the first female and first black Delaware City Attorney.”
Harris is committed to working hard every day to ensure the justice system is fair and just for all residents of Franklin County. She wants to use her experiences, skills, and knowledge to make a difference in the community. Her campaign platform agenda will include engagement and collaboration with internal and external community stakeholders, staff diversity, equal opportunity justice, and visionary transformative leadership.
