The Columbus and Franklin County Addiction Plan has set up eight Walk in for Recovery events throughout the summer to connect people who use drugs or alcohol to health checks, naloxone, addiction help, food, and resources. Services are available on a drop in basis and no appointment is needed.
Free Walk-In for Recovery events will be held at the following locations:
· June 14 & 15 • 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Jordan’s Crossing, 342 N. Hague Ave.
· June 28 & 29 • 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
New Salem Baptist Church, 2956 Cleveland Ave.
· July 12 & 13 • 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Community Development for All People, 946 Parsons Ave.
· July 26 & 27 • 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Stonewall Columbus, 1160 N. High St.
· August 9 & 10 • 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
African American & African Studies Community Extension Center, 905 Mt. Vernon Ave.
· August 23 & 24 • 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
The P.E.E.R. Center West, 866 W. Broad St., #860
The free community events may include alcohol and/or drug assessments; immediate linkage to medical detox; boxed meals; wound care; same-day contraception; STI/HIV testing and treatment; access to PrEP; women’s health exams, including breast and cervical cancer screenings; COVID-19 prevention help; Medicaid enrollment assistance; and naloxone and fentanyl test strips. Services are free and will be offered at most locations.
