- Partners New Americans magazine on Job Fair
- Holds public meetings at Karl Road Library Tuesday, April 18
The Central Ohio Transit Authority, COTA will hold its largest operator hiring job fair on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 1333 Fields Avenue, Columbus, Ohio in a two-session event of 9.30am to 11.30am and 1.30pm to 6.30pm, with many job seekers expected to walk away with a job offer in hand.
“COTA is hosting an operator hiring event including onsite interviews and screenings – we hope many job seekers walk away with a job offer in hand,” said Community Relations Manager Tanya Salyers in a message to partners.
In a partnership meeting recently on the job fair with the New Americans magazine, the COTA team assured that visitors to the fair will have opportunity of practically experiencing the services that COTA provides to the public.
Some of the benefits getting hired include:
- Training pay has increased to $20.50/hour. $21.74 pay rate at onboarding.
- Sign on bonuses of $2,000 are available for newly hired student Operators and $2,500 available for those who already have a CDL-B license.

Meanwhile, COTA will host a public meeting at the Columbus Metropolitan Library, Karl Road, Columbus on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at 6pm in continuation of a series of public meetings to discuss updates to its short-range transit plan.
The short-range transit plan is a five-year plan that is updated in coordination with the Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission’s Transportation Improvement Program.
This plan will help guide local, state, and federal funding decisions in the coming years.
