The City of Columbus will host its annual MLK Day March and Program to celebrate and honor the legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 16, 2023, beginning with the march at the Lincoln Theatre on 769 E. Long Street, Columbus, Ohio from 4:30 p.m.
Participants will converge at the Lincoln Theatre on 769 E. Long Street, Columbus, Ohio and the march will head west toward Hamilton Avenue, turning north on Hamilton Avenue to Spring Street, then to Lester Avenue to Long Street and back to Lincoln Theatre.
Speakers at the event which is free to the public include Columbus City Mayor Andrew Ginther, Councilmember Lourdes Barroso de Padilla, Director Carla Williams-Scott, Department of Neighborhoods, Luke Fedlam, Keynote Speaker, Nia Allen, Recording Artist and MLK Youth Oratorical Contest Winners.
Luke Fedlam is a partner at the law firm of Porter Wright here in Columbus, where he leads the sports law practice group. He is a nationally known thought-leader, speaker and author on the business of sports and protecting athletes. A Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Luke currently services as the Chapter President of Alpha Rho Lambda Chapter, Alpha’s Alumni Chapter here in Columbus. Outside of work, Luke serves the community on the Board of Directors for the Columbus Clippers, the Board of Trustees for Capital University, the Board of Directors for the National Youth Advocate Program, and the Board of Commissioners for the Greater Columbus Sports Commission.
