Receiving the groups of three families at the John Glen International Airport, Columbus, Ohio, the ETSS Executive Director, Dr Seleshi Asfaw told the Afghan families that the city of Columbus was “the right place” to begin life in America.
“We are putting them in a hotel first, and we will get them an accommodation while we help them with other things they will require to settle down in Columbus.”
ETSS, in collaboration with the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, is tasked with the resettlement of 75 allies from Afghanistan.
