As Americans and the world await the results and announcement of the winners of the U.S. 2020 Presidential elections, Democratic Presidential candidate, former Vice President Joe Biden has appealed for calm in the country.
“I ask everyone to stay calm. All people to stay calm. The process is working, the count is being completed and we will know very soon,” Vice President Joe Biden said on his third public address since the November 3 elections.
Joe Biden, who started his address by reporting on his and Senator Kamala Harris meetings and briefings on covid19 and the economy, said “We are reminded again of the severity of this pandemic. Cases on the rise nationwide and we are nearing 240,000 deaths due to COVID-19. Our hearts go out to each and every family which has lost a loved one to this terrible disease.”
On the election, Joe Biden said, “In America the vote is sacred. It is how people of this nation express their will. It is the will of the voters, no one, not anything else that choses the President of the United States of America.”
“Each ballot must be counted and that is what we are going to see going through now. That is how it should be. Democracy is sometimes messy. It sometimes requires a little patience as well and that patience has been rewarded for now for more than 240 years.”
He said, “the system of governance has continued to be the envy of the world. Senator Kamala Harris and I continued to feel good about where things stand. We have no doubt that when the count is finished Senator Kamala Harris and I will be declared the winners.”
