Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has tested positive when he took a test for COVID-19 as part of the standard protocol to greet President Donald Trump on the tarmac at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland.
“Governor DeWine has no symptoms at the present time,” according to a statement from Governor Mike DeWine’s media office.
Governor DeWine has returned to Columbus where he and First Lady Fran DeWine, who also has no symptoms, will both be tested again.
Governor DeWine is expected to follow protocol for COVID-19 and quarantine at his home in Cedarville for the next 14 days.
Meanwhile, Governor Mike DeWine has assured Ohioans of not being impacted by the development.
“I am fine. My work will not be impacted. I will continue to do what I do.”
However, Lt. Governor Jon Husted who also took the COVID-19 test as part of the protocol to greet the president tested negative.
