New Africans Immigrants Commission approves members for 5 committees
The New African immigrants Commission, Ohio has approved members for the five standing committees expected through which much of the work of the commission will be executed at one of its statutory meeting in June.
They include Education and Cultural Affairs; Workforce and Business Development; Social Services and Outreach; health and Wellness and Legal Services.
The Chair of the Commission, Dr Rosaire ifedi said over 20members of the public filed to serve in the committees, adding that any interested members of the public could still visit the New African Immigrants Commission’s website to complete the interest forms.
NIDO distributes passports to owners
The Nigerians in Diaspora Organization, NIDO, Columbus, Ohio has started the distribution of the Nigerian international Passports to owners with the arrival of some copies from the Nigerian Embassy in New York.
The Chair of NIDO, Ms Teresa Edoja announced at the monthly meeting that “those whose passports are ready are being informed”, adding that those with issues with the processing of their passports have been contacted to provide the necessary documents.
She assured that people will be contacted as soon as their passports are ready for collection.
Drelyse Restaurant reopens in Columbus
Drelyse African Restaurant on Tamarack Circle N, Columbus, Ohio has reopened after going through renovation for some months.
The owner, Lisa Banerman told New Americans that “we are happy to be back to business and will like to thank all our customers that waited for us to bounce back.”
She said that with the reopening the menu will be expanded to accommodate international options such as American food.
“Drelyese restaurant is also planning to bring a live band to entertain customers in the evenings,” she added.
Afrique Business Network mobilizes for New Americans magazine
The Afrique Business Network has started mobilizing its members for the New Americans magazine’s One Year anniversary coming up on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Ashland University Columbus Center.
The facilitator of the international business group, Tayo Oresotu urged members to ensure the success of the anniversary by participating in areas necessary to enhance the success of the event.
The New Americans magazine’s event will begin at 6.30PM at the Ashland University Columbus Center on 1900 E Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH.
