Posted by: New Americans Magazine , May 9, 2024

Prepare for an exciting 2024 summer season with cultural festivals, including the Columbus African Festival, a collaboration with the Ohio Ghana Festival. Mark your calendars for this event, which will take place from July 26 to 28 at Geona Park in Downtown Columbus. Organizers anticipate a season highlight that will draw in a vibrant crowd of thousands.

On April 27, 2024, the Savor Bar & Grill hosted the Taste of Africa event, a tantalizing preview of the upcoming Columbus African Festival. The event was a resounding success, with a local African DJ infusing the air with infectious energy, creating a festive atmosphere that enthralled everyone. The joy and excitement of that day are just a taste of what’s to come at the Columbus African Festival.

Various African caterers and restaurant establishments like Savor Bar & Grill served piping hot plates from Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Liberia to Ghana, offering a delectable array of dishes that left guests craving more.

The Taste of Africa was a triumph, leaving guests eagerly anticipating the upcoming African festival. It was an excellent opportunity for attendees to sample dishes from various cultures and regions, from spicy stews to sweet desserts.

Savor Bar & Grill is a popular restaurant in Columbus, Ohio, known for its unique blend of African and American cuisine. The restaurant’s inviting ambiance and sumptuous food made it the perfect choice to host the Taste of Africa, which showcases African cuisine’s diverse and vibrant flavors. And that’s why the Taste of Africa was not just about celebrating food and culture but a heartfelt tribute to the local African community. It showcased their music, food, and culture, reminding everyone of their rich heritage and the contributions they continue to make in Central Ohio.

The Columbus African festival plays a crucial role in celebrating and promoting the diverse African culture in central Ohio. The festival highlights the richness and depth of African heritage by showcasing various forms of art, such as film, performing arts, and fine arts.

It also creates a platform for African artists and performers to share their talents and connect with the community. Collaborating with the Ohio Ghana festival further enhances this celebration of culture, as it brings together the shared values, personalities, creativity, and aspirations of both African and Ghanaian communities. Ultimately, this partnership creates a powerful representation of the African diaspora and their vision for a better life.
