The Ohio Somali Book Fair Holds Jan. 1

The maiden Ohio Somali Book Fair will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at the Columbus Airport Marriott, 1375 North Cassady Avenue, Columbus, Ohio beginning from 5:30 PM – 11:00 PM.

“It is an opportunity to connect directly with prominent Somali writers and thinkers,” said Kawther Musa, for the Ohio Somali Book Fair.

“On display will be the power of poetry, live recitations of traditional and contemporary Suugan.”

Kawther said, “it is going to be a night of culture and literature and a marketplace to browse and purchase a diverse collection of books on Somali history, culture and fiction.”

‘Some international authors will be featured at the book fair as well.”

Also, Abdi Adan said that “open discussions will be held by a panel to discuss the future of Somali.”

The Ohio Somali Book Fair is a community-rooted nonprofit  dedicated to uplifting  Somali voices, supporting New American families, and building inclusive literary  spaces across Ohio.
