By As Nigeria marks its 66th Independence anniversary on October 1, 2026, Nigerians and friends in Columbus, Ohio will gather to celebrate at the Columbus Metropolitan Library, 5590 Karl Road, Columbus on Saturday, October 3, from 1pm – 5pm.
“With the theme ‘Our Heritage. Our People. Our Pride’, it is celebration of Nigeria’s art and culture,” said Sonje Calamese, President of Nigerians in Diaspora, Ohio, NIDOA.
“We are celebrating Nigeria’s rich culture, creativity and vibrant heritage.”
Sonje added that the celebration will feature “fashion, arts, music, Nigerian food, community leaders and businesses,” “everyone is invited and welcome to celebrate with us.”
She expressed appreciation to Nigerian organizations involved in planning and organizing the annual event and the Greater Columbus Arts Council, GCAC.
