Columbus, Ohio-based KiluWorks Leadership Institute has continued to expand its global footprint through strategic relationship-building and educational engagement in Tanzania, marking an important milestone in the organization’s mission to develop authentic leaders who positively impact their communities and the world around them.
In June 2026, KiluWorks Leadership Institute Executive Director and CEO, Mr. Mhilu A. Kiluwasha, embarked on a Tanzania Leadership Engagement Tour, visiting several educational institutions in Dar es Salaam to explore opportunities for leadership development, educational collaboration, mentorship, entrepreneurship, professional training, and future institutional partnerships.
In addition to serving as the Executive Director of KiluWorks Leadership Institute, Mr. Kiluwasha brings extensive experience in leadership development and education as a Certified Business Consultant, a business partner within the John C. Maxwell leadership network, an instructor at Columbus State Community College in Ohio, and an educator with the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO). These experiences provided a foundation for meaningful discussions focused on preparing future leaders to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
Building Relationships at Kibaha Institute of Business
One of the key engagements took place at Kibaha Institute of Business (KIB), where Mr. Kiluwasha met with Professor Melyoki and Principal Nembris Kimbele. Discussions focused on leadership development, entrepreneurship education, mentorship opportunities, professional training initiatives, and innovative approaches to online learning.
Participants exchanged ideas on how educational institutions and leadership organizations can work together to equip students and young professionals with practical leadership skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and the confidence needed to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
While discussions remain in the exploratory stage, both parties expressed a shared interest in identifying opportunities for future collaboration that could benefit students and emerging leaders in Tanzania and beyond.
Strengthening Student Development and Mentorship at the College of Business Education
Mr. Kiluwasha also visited the College of Business Education (CBE), where he met with Dr. Faustine China, Principal Social Welfare Officer, and Farida Shemweta, Senior Social Welfare Officer and Head of Unit for Counselling and Health Services.
The discussions centered on student development, leadership training, mentorship programs, counseling support services, and holistic approaches to preparing young people for success in both their personal and professional lives.
The exchange highlighted the importance of supporting students beyond academics by creating environments that foster leadership, emotional well-being, personal growth, and community engagement.
Exploring Future Collaboration with the Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy
The Tanzania Leadership Engagement Tour also included a visit to the Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy, where discussions explored leadership education, professional development, and future institutional collaboration. The engagement reflects KiluWorks Leadership Institute’s commitment to connecting with institutions that share a vision for leadership excellence and community transformation.
Advancing a Global Vision
The Tanzania Leadership Engagement Tour represents an important step toward KiluWorks Leadership Institute’s long-term vision of expanding leadership development opportunities across Africa while strengthening connections between the continent and the diaspora.

While no formal agreements have been established at this stage, the relationships developed during this visit represent a promising beginning. KiluWorks Leadership Institute looks forward to continuing these conversations and exploring ways to create meaningful opportunities for emerging leaders in Tanzania, the United States, and throughout the global diaspora.
