Families, educators, child advocates, and community leaders will gather on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, for the S.A.F.E for Children®️ Story Clinic, hosted by Nigerian family attorney, internationally recognized family strengthening and child safeguarding innovator, and value-driven parenting ideologue Taiwo AKINLAMI at Columbus Main Library, Ohio.
The programme combines lived experience, multidisciplinary expertise, and practical safeguarding strategies to strengthen families, prevent child sexual abuse, and build safer communities.
The programme, titled EVERY PART OF MY BODY IS PRIVATE TO ME®️ IMMERSION: Priceless Lessons from My Child Sexual Abuse Story, is built around a simple but profound conviction: personal stories can become powerful instruments of healing, prevention, and community transformation.
As a child, AKINLAMI experienced child sexual abuse. His story is part of a broader childhood marked by physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, and sexual abuse. Since beginning his healing journey in 1997, he has shared his story with families, schools, faith communities, child protection practitioners, policymakers, and international organizations, including UNICEF, UNFPA, the British Council, SOS Children’s Villages International, Facebook, and Google at the 2017 EMEA Child Safety Summit in Dublin, Ireland, among others.
“For nearly three decades, I have witnessed firsthand that when stories are told with courage, they help people heal; when examined with wisdom, they help prevent abuse; and when embraced by communities, they become catalysts for lasting change,” AKINLAMI said.
Unlike a conventional seminar, the Story Clinic brings together personal testimony and multidisciplinary perspectives to examine the realities of child sexual abuse while equipping participants with practical strategies for prevention, early intervention, family strengthening, and culture-systems fortification.
Joining AKINLAMI are three distinguished community leaders:
LaShanna Potts, First Assistant Chief, Columbus Division of Police, will serve as Voice of Direction, offering practical insights from a law enforcement perspective on preventing child sexual abuse, recognizing warning signs, and strengthening community responses.
John Collins, CASA Guardian ad Litem, youth advocate, mentor, and community leader, will serve as Story Witness, bringing a lived perspective on resilience, mentoring, and the transformation of lives shaped by childhood adversity.
Richard Lombard, Founder and Executive Director of WorldviewU, will serve as Master of Ceremonies, guiding the evening’s conversations and reflections.
Participants will explore three core themes:
* Healing Pathways
* Prevention Strategies
* Culture-Systems Fortification
The programme is designed for parents, grandparents, educators, school leaders, child-serving professionals, faith leaders, policymakers, youth workers, attorneys, counselors, social workers, and every adult committed to creating safer environments where children can flourish.
