Chijike Ndukwu Becomes Regular Member of the Hillside Zoning Board of Adjustment, NJ
A Nigerian American construction professional Chijike Ndukwu was on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, sworn in as a Regular Member of the Hillside Zoning Board of Adjustment, New Jersey.
The New Jersey Hillside Board of Zoning Adjustment serves a critical quasi-judicial role in municipal land use governance.

The oath of office, for a four-year term, was administered by Board Attorney Allen J. Barkin of Schwartz, Barkin & Mitchel.
Ndukwu joins fellow board members led by Chairperson Dennis Kobitz, alongside Terrel Day, Kimberly Iungermann, Al-Nisa Tucker-Muhammad, Yehuda Schupper, Barbara Johnson, and two alternate members.
The board chairperson Kobitz congratulated Ndukwu on his appointment.
The Hillside Board of Zoning Adjustment board reviews variance applications, hears appeals of zoning determinations, evaluates requests involving development deviations from township zoning ordinances, and helps balance private property rights with neighborhood character, public safety, traffic management, and long-term planning objectives.
Its decisions can significantly shape community growth, redevelopment, and land use standards within Hillside.
Ndukwu is a Nigerian American construction professional with a background in architecture, building regulation, and community development. He holds a graduate degree in Architecture from Abia State University, Uturu and another graduate degree in Community and Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University, New Hampshire. His appointment is expected to bring technical expertise, development insight, and professional experience to one of Hillside’s most important land use bodies.
