City of Columbus Honors Holocaust Victims at 41st Annual Yom HaShoah Observance

In a solemn and deeply meaningful gathering, community members, leaders, and partners came together in Council Chambers for the 41st Annual City of Columbus Yom HaShoah Observance & Holocaust Remembrance Program. The event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of memory, education, and unity in the face of hatred and injustice.

Observed worldwide, Yom HaShoah—also known as Holocaust Remembrance Day—honors the six million Jewish men, women, and children who were murdered during The Holocaust, one of history’s darkest chapters. In Columbus, this annual observance has become a cornerstone of remembrance and reflection for over four decades.

The program brought together city officials, faith leaders, educators, survivors, and community members, all united in their commitment to ensuring that the stories of the Holocaust are never forgotten. Through remarks, moments of silence, and shared reflections, attendees paid tribute not only to those who lost their lives but also to the resilience of survivors and their enduring legacy.
