Helping Hands All Ways: Rebuilding Lives Through Compassion, Stability, and Second Chances
By Irina Perry
For more than a decade, Helping Hands All Ways Inc. has stood as a quiet but powerful force for change—meeting people at their most vulnerable moments and walking alongside them toward stability, dignity, and independence.
Founded by Connie Blake, the organization’s roots trace back over ten years to the establishment of Connie Home LLC in Winnebago County. What began as a mission to provide safe, supportive housing for adults with disabilities quickly grew into a comprehensive model of care.
Today, Connie Home LLC operates ten Adult Family Homes serving approximately thirty individuals and employing more than forty staff members, all united by a shared commitment to compassion and service.
That same mission expanded to Central Ohio in 2021 with the launch of Promises’ Homes LLC and Helping Hands All Ways Inc. as a nonprofit organization based in Columbus. Together, these initiatives reflect a holistic approach to community support—one that recognizes that true transformation requires more than temporary assistance.
Helping Hands All Ways focuses on strengthening individuals and families facing economic hardship, reentry challenges, and the long-term impact of difficult life circumstances. The organization works to reconnect people with essential resources, offering guidance and referrals that address both immediate needs and long-term goals.
At the heart of its work is reentry support. For individuals returning to society after incarceration or extended hardship, Helping Hands All Ways provides transitional assistance, life-skills development, workforce readiness training, and housing support. These services are designed not only to stabilize lives but to empower people to reclaim independence and build sustainable futures.
“We don’t just help people survive—we help them rebuild,” is a philosophy that runs through every program the organization offers. By addressing housing, employment, and personal development together, Helping Hands All Ways creates pathways that lead to lasting change rather than short-term relief.
The organization’s vision is clear and deeply rooted in equity and opportunity: to create a society where every individual has the support, skills, and resources to rebuild their lives, achieve independence, and thrive after reentry.
In a city as diverse and dynamic as Columbus, Helping Hands All Ways serves as a reminder that community transformation begins with human connection. Through patience, structure, and unwavering compassion, the organization continues to prove that second chances—when paired with real support—can change not only individual lives, but entire communities.
