Traffic Safety Awareness Week Kicks Off with Community Commitment in Columbus
Community leaders, educators, and city officials gathered this afternoon at Hiltonia Middle School to officially kick off Traffic Safety Awareness Week—an initiative focused on protecting one of the city’s most vulnerable populations: its students.
The event, held at 2:00 PM at 2345 E. Mound St., highlighted a newly completed sidewalk and improved traffic crossing area designed to provide safer access for students walking to and from school. The project stands as a visible example of the city’s ongoing commitment to pedestrian safety, especially in high-risk areas.
Leading the event was Andrew Ginther, joined by representatives from Columbus City Schools, including Angela Chapman, Director Kelly Scocco of the Department of Public Service, Lourdes Barroso de Padilla, and Hiltonia Middle School Principal Roxanne Martin.
Integrate Women International Hosts Weekend of Healing, Prayer, and Connection
On April 17–18, 2026, women from across multiple states came together for a powerful and uplifting retreat hosted by Integrate Women International, led by founder Neema Tambwee. The gathering took place at the serene Heartland Retreat Center Lodge in Marengo, Ohio, offering a peaceful setting for reflection, renewal, and meaningful connection.
More than 30 women traveled from diverse locations—including Columbus, Marion, Marysville, Rochester, and throughout Indiana—to take part in this inspiring experience. United by a shared purpose, participants

came together to grow spiritually, build lasting relationships, and support one another in a welcoming and uplifting environment.
Throughout the weekend, the retreat offered a rich blend of prayer services, heartfelt storytelling, and moments of quiet reflection. Ministers from various communities dedicated their time to lead powerful prayer sessions, providing encouragement, spiritual guidance, and a sense of unity among attendees.
Beyond the spiritual experience, guests explored holistic wellness products and engaged in open conversations centered around self-care, healing, and personal growth. The retreat created a space where laughter, connection, and authenticity flourished—allowing women to meet, connect, and share their journeys.
