Weavers of Nigeria Winter Pop-Up Boutique Fundraiser

On February 21st, the halls of Christ International Community Church were filled with warmth, culture, and purpose as the Weavers of Nigeria   hosted its Winter Pop-Up Boutique Fundraiser at 4254 Cleveland Avenue in Columbus.

Despite the winter chill outside, the atmosphere inside was vibrant and welcoming. Community members gathered to support a cause rooted in empowerment, faith, and global outreach.

Guests explored boutique-style tables featuring handcrafted goods, culturally inspired fashion, accessories, and gift items. Each purchase directly supported the organization’s mission to uplift women, strengthen families, and create sustainable opportunities through education and entrepreneurship.

The fundraiser brought together church members, families, entrepreneurs, and supporters who believe in building bridges between cultures. The Winter Pop-Up Boutique was more than a shopping experience—it was a reminder of how faith-based organizations continue to serve as pillars of unity and compassion in our city.

Rental Registry Initiative

On January 19, 2026, community members filled the chambers of Columbus City Hall for the third public discussion surrounding the proposed Rental Registry initiative. The meeting brought together residents, housing advocates, landlords, and city leaders in a continued effort to address housing quality, tenant protections, and long-term neighborhood stability in Columbus.

As one of the fastest-growing cities in the Midwest, Columbus faces a dual reality: economic expansion and increasing housing demand. With more families renting than ever before, city officials are exploring policies designed to ensure that rental properties meet safety standards while maintaining accountability across the housing market.

The proposed Rental Registry would require landlords to formally register rental properties with the city. The goal is to create a centralized database that improves transparency and strengthens coordination between property owners and code enforcement.

Frost Fest 2026 Unites Families at the Reynoldsburg Senior Center

On February 20, 2026, the Reynoldsburg Senior Center came alive with energy, laughter, and winter cheer during the annual Frost Fest celebration. Families from across the community gathered for an evening that blended seasonal fun with meaningful community connection.

Children enjoyed skating, bouncing in inflatable houses, and lining up for colorful face painting designs. The crisp winter air made warm cups of hot cocoa, freshly popped popcorn, and classic hot dogs especially comforting. Both the outdoor grounds and the indoor spaces of the Senior Center were transformed into activity zones designed to engage families of all ages.

One of the highlights of Frost Fest was the “snow bowls,” where community organizations provided information about services and programs available to children and their families. These interactive stations offered more than entertainment — they connected residents with valuable local resources, reinforcing the importance of accessible community support.

Events like Frost Fest reflect the growing strength and unity of Reynoldsburg’s diverse families. By combining recreation with outreach, the celebration created a welcoming environment where neighbors could meet, children could play safely, and parents could learn about opportunities that enrich family life.
