Somali Health Fair holds April 27

Somali Health and Wellness Fair will hold on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 2-7 p.m. Abubakar Assidiq Islamic Center 591 Industrial Mile Rd., Columbus. The fair, which is being organized by the Office of Minority Health at the Columbus Public Health will begin at 2pm and end at 7pm.

Three medical doctors, Abas Jama, Muhamed Hashi and Ibrahim Ali together with two Certified Nurse Practitioner Amina Abdule and Farhiya Shirwa will attend to visitors at the fair.

There will be free health screenings for blood sugar, blood pressure and Hepatitis B and HPV vaccine while resources will be provided for nutrition, mental wellness, smoking cessation, alcohol and drug prevention, infant safe sleep, cancer prevention and dental care.


Turkish Food Festival holds April 27

Turkish American Society Of Ohio – Columbus will hold Turkish Food Festival on Saturday, April 27 at the Bethel International United Methodist Church on 1220 Bethel Road, Columbus, Ohio 43220.

It will begin at 11 AM and end at 5 PM.

 

 


Blood drive holds at Ashland University Columbus Campus May 30

The Red Cross in collaboration with Daniel House, Ashland University Columbus Cam

pus on 1900 E Dublin Granville Road will hold a blood drive on Thursday, May

30 from 10am to 4pm.

Resources to be provided at the health fair include Information on low cost/free healthcare, Medical checks (glucose, blood pressure, etc), Parenting tips, Integrating into US customs, Food Banks, Car seat checks and Immigration legal advice.

Volunteers are needed to serve as Somali and Bhutanese Interpreters.
