Ohio stockpiles Personal Protective Equipment

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has announced a new hospital Personal Protective Equipment Readiness Stockpile in preparation for any spike in the coronavirus pandemic.

“This stockpile will be compiled and stored by Ohio hospitals throughout the state and will be distributed to residents and staff at long-term care facilities should they see a spike in COVID19 cases,” said Governor Mike DeWine.

He said “we will be increasing testing. We will also have more pop-up sites across the state. Again, more locations will be announced soon.”

Also, in his contribution, Lt. Governor Jon Husted said “The start date for Phase 2 will start next week, June 22nd. Phase 2 involves reopening contact practice for all sports. “

“Football, lacrosse and other contact sports can resume scrimmages and full training regiments as long as safety protocols are observed.

“As most of Ohio’s economy is open, we will be transitioning our COVID19 job search site back to http://OhioMeansJobs.com. This website has over 120,000 job postings. Almost half of those jobs pay over $50,000.”

Governor Mike DeWine used the briefing to conduct a virtual swearing-in of the new Ohio Fire Marshal, Kevin Reardon.
