Dublin celebrates Diwali – Festival of Lights

Sunday, November 12, 2023, the Dublin Link is lit up with colors of orange and purple in celebration of the Festival of Lights, also known as Diwali. Diwali is a hugely important holiday for Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and Newar Buddhists and is celebrated to symbolize the victory of light over darkness and righteousness over falsehood.

Diwali involves the lighting of lamps to symbolize the illumination of the soul. It is celebrated by exchanging gifts, decorating homes with lights, and performing traditional religious rituals. It is also a time for families and communities to come together to celebrate the joy and blessings of the season.

The Festival of Lights is an essential reminder of the power of light over darkness and of truth over falsehood. It is also a time for unity and celebration, and the Dublin Link is glowing in beautiful colors to reflect the spirit of Diwali.
